In the wake of dramatic accident, Greece promises to upgrade rail system

More than two years after the worst train disaster in Greek history, the country’s leaders are planning to install a new system aimed at preventing similar tragedies. The upgrade is a longtime coming and is expected to increase safety across the country’s railways, but will it be enough to quell the frustration among victims’ families and advocates who have consistently protested since the deadly 2023 crash?
