African penguins are on the edge of extinction with some experts warning that they could disappear by 2026 if trends continue. Overfishing, climate change and oil spillages have had the biggest impact. Dyan de Napoli — penguin expert and author  — was involved in one of the largest animal rescue missions in the world after a massive oil spill off Cape Town, South Africa in 2000.
