A US citizen and three EU citizens are facing deportation from Germany after they protested against Israel’s offensive in Gaza. The four have been ordered to leave the country by April 21 or face forcible deportation. Berlin’s interior ministry said the order was issued in connection with a university protest last October. A lawyer for the group said the case bears a striking similarity to that of Mahmoud Khalil, the Syrian-born Columbia University graduate who is being threatened with deportation for taking part in pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the US.
