Researchers use sound to determine soil’s health

The Restoration Ecology team at Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia, recently published new research that uses super sensitive microphones to listen to and analyze the health of soil. As The World’s Bianca Hillier reported this fall, the researchers say this new method could replace traditional ones, which are expensive, disruptive and laborious.
