Kenya’s Ruth Chepng’etich won the Chicago Marathon in October in the fastest time ever recorded for the distance. She crossed the finish line in just 2 hours, 9 minutes and 56 seconds. That’s faster than 5 minutes per mile. The win was so extraordinary that it had some people questioning whether it was valid.
