Sex workers in Belgium will soon be entitled to maternity leave, a pension and some guaranteed safety measures in their place of work. The law, the first of its kind in the world, comes into effect this week. Sex workers unions in Belgium welcomed the move but women’s rights groups have called it a backward step.
