The World Health Organization has authorized the first mpox vaccine for children. This is huge news because the mpox outbreak in Africa has disproportionately affected children in countries like Congo and Burundi. Now, the race is on to get the vaccines to the affected areas. Carolyn Beeler speaks with Boghuma K. Titanji, professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta.
