President Joe Biden issued a statement on Wednesday saying he is “outraged and deeply saddened by the death of Aysenur Eygi.” The 26-year-old Turkish American activist was shot and killed by an Israeli soldier during a protest last Friday in the West Bank. Palestinians and anti-occupation activists held a funeral procession for Eygi in the West Bank city of Nablus on Tuesday. Biden said Israel needs to take “full accountability” for the incident.
