James Earl Jones passed away on Monday in New York at the age of 93. He was most famous for his role in “Star Wars” as Darth Vader. But he also played a number of famous other roles including Jack Jefferson in “Great White Hope” and Douglass Dilman in “The Man.” Veteran film producer Anant Singh watched those films, which were banned in South African under apartheid. He later produced his own film with Jones, “Cry, the Beloved Country.” Marco Werman spoke with Singh about the life and legacy of Jones and how he inspired people far beyond the US.
