From a young age, Prétu recognized injustice by the way his mother was treated — a Black woman originally from Cape Verde, cleaning and cooking for wealthy families in Portugal. Despite his mom’s long working hours, Prétu says she took the time to teach some important lessons about respecting women. The World’s April Peavey tells us more.
