Li Rui, once a top Chinese official and a personal secretary to Mao Zedong, kept detailed diaries, critiquing seven decades of communist rule in China. Li donated the diaries to Stanford University. Now, Li’s widow is suing Stanford University, claiming that the documents belong to her.  Joseph Torigian, a research fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, and Columbia University’s Andrew Nathan speak with The World’s Host Marco Werman about what’s at stake in the trial.
