Ecuadorian court rules that a river’s rights have been violated

The Machángara River runs through the Ecuadorian capital of Quito. And the river has rights, eligible for litigation, under the Ecuadorian constitution. In a recent case, the court ruled in favor of the river, and now, the government must clean it up. The World’s host Carolyn Beeler talks with Natalia Greene, a longtime environmental activist in Ecuador, about the ruling.
