Chery, a Chinese electric vehicle maker popular around the world, is setting up a shop in Barcelona. It’s a first on European soil for a Chinese EV maker, and the joint-venture is meant to protect Chery from potential trade restrictions on the heels of a European Union investigation into allegedly unfair subsidies from Beijing.
