German lawmakers under attack

Europe is gearing up for EU-wide elections next month but in Germany, politicians on the campaign trail are taking additional precautions. In the past month, several German lawmakers have been physically assaulted while out campaigning. One leading EU candidate with the center-left Social Democratic Party was hospitalized after being attacked by four men in Dresden. Political experts say the rise in physical violence against lawmakers and their campaign teams could threaten the future of democracy in Germany. The World’s Europe correspondent Orla Barry reports.
