When La Palma’s volcano erupted in September 2021, this island off the coast in Spain was in ruins. Thousands of homes were destroyed, including the home of one of Valeria Castro’s grandma. Out of the ruins, Castro wrote songs, many appear on her debut album “Con Cariño y Con Cuidado.” It’s an album that emerged from the ashes and connected Castro to her roots. The World’s April Peavey has more.
