President Joe Biden a.k.a. “Amtrak Joe” is trying to revive a plan to link Dallas and Houston by a Japanese bullet train. The President is expected to raise it with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Wedneday during his state visit to Washington. The US has tried and failed for decades at establishing any genuine high speed real anywhere across the lower 48. Carolyn Beeler speaks with William Vantuono, editor-in-chief of the industry trade journal Railway Age, about whether the Texas bullet train project has any better chance of succeeding than past high speed rail efforts.
