The week-long World Health Assembly kicked off today. It’s the WHO’s top decision-making body, made up of representatives from around the world. This year’s focus is all about ending the pandemic and preparing for the next one. Multiple players are calling for reforms that go beyond the current framework: a pandemic treaty. But it’s unclear whether it will move forward. Host Carol Hills talks with The World’s global health reporter, Elana Gordon, about the efforts and what’s at stake.
