But now, it is in short supply, which could wreak havoc on the auto industry. China controls about 85% of the global magnesium market but Beijing has reduced its production to conserve its power supply. Marco Werman speaks with Abey Abraham of Ducker Worldwide, a consulting firm, about how critical magnesium is to the auto industry.
