WHO warns more than half of Europeans could be infected by omicron

The World Health Organization is warning that more than half of Europeans could get infected with the omicron variant in the next six to eight weeks. It also warned that the omicron variant shouldn’t be treated as a flu-like endemic. The World’s Carol Hills spoke with Ali Mokdad, an epidemiologist at the University of Washington, about the WHO’s prediction and what the infection rate will look like in the US in the weeks ahead.
