Japan says it plans to release more than a million tons of wastewater from the destroyed Fukushima nuclear power plant into the Pacific Ocean. Initially, the release was slated for April, but a delegation of Pacific Island nations managed to convince Japan to push back that timeline to study the effects of releasing the water.
