What it’s like trying to survive in wartime Khartoum

Sudan’s civil war between two top generals — one commanding the national army, the other commanding a paramilitary force called the RSF, or Rapid Support Forces — has ravaged the capital Khartoum and sent millions of refugees in all directions. But getting out can be just as hard as staying in the city, even while gun battles play out in the streets. The World’s Marco Werman talks with Mobarak Adil, a lifelong resident of Khartoum, about trying to survive in the city and escape.
