There’s a whole lot wrapped up in citizenship. It’s about privilege, ease of travel and access to certain rights and benefits. But it’s also about identity and, of course, politics. Following President Donald Trump’s calls to drop certain birthrights in the US, we wanted to hear about citizenship elsewhere around the globe. For example, Germany only recently instituted birthright citizenship. Host Marco Werman speaks with Werner Patzelt, a political scientist at the Technical University of Dresden, to find out more.
