Voices from Caracas

The World

Mineau is a 60-year-old, retired architect in Caracas who’s now volunteering to keep her alma mater, Simón Bolívar University, open for business. She’s not leaving Venezuela and is committed to seeing her country through the crisis. Valentina is a 20-year-old college student majoring in computer engineering, but classes have been suspended since March. She’s decided to leave her country — for her own safety. The World’s Carol Hills reports on their two perspectives.
