Violence continues to escalate between Israel and the Palestinians

An Israeli offensive on Gaza overnight killed at least 28 people, including children, as rocket attacks from the enclave also killed two Israelis. This follows violence and tensions between the Israeli police and Palestinians at Al-Aqsa mosque and in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East Jerusalem — where Palestinian residents are facing possible eviction. The World’s Marco Werman spoke with Hanan Ashrawi, a senior official of the Palestine Liberation Organization, to talk about the recent tensions and violence in East Jerusalem and Gaza.
