Fighting between Israel and Palestinian militant groups in the Gaza strip intensified Thursday night. At midnight, Israeli air and artillery forces initiated a large-scale attack on Hamas targets in the north of Gaza, killing a family of six and also causing major blackouts in the northern parts of Gaza.
