Using a robot to measure the impact of climate change

To measure the impact on oceans of those giant chunks of ice breaking off of polar ice caps, you need to get up close. That’s too dangerous for humans but in Greenland, a small autonomous vehicle is gathering data that’s helping scientists figure out what happens when the fresh water from those icebergs melts into the ocean. Marco Werman speaks with Hanumant Singh, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Northeastern University who co-designed the robot.
