US universities condemned for weighing in (as well as not weighing in) on the Israel-Gaza conflict, reigniting free speech debate

The terrorist attacks on Israel civilians and the shelling of Gaza, which have killed thousands, are revealing deep divisions on US college campuses. Universities have been criticized for not stamping out anti-Israel statements and protests. But some say that’s not the university’s role, and free speech must be allowed. WGBH’s Kirk Carapezza reports from Harvard University in Boston, where the protests started, and have now spread to other campuses across the country.
