US state department says no to rainbow flags for pride

The World

June is LGBT pride month. In previous years, it was common for rainbow flags to be raised at US embassies and consulates to celebrate gay and lesbian communities around the globe. But flying a flag usually requires the State Department’s permission, and this year, Trump administration officials in Washington reportedly turned down those requests. A number of US diplomatic posts have found ways around this, though.
