Unrest in Chile cancels climate summit

The president of Chile announced Wednesday that after weeks of anti-government protests, it would no longer host two major global summits in Santiago this fall. The Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, or APEC, and the UN’s next annual climate conference were scheduled to start at the beginning of December.
