Ukraine begins war crime first trial against Russian soldier

On Friday, for the first time since Russia attacked Ukraine, a Russian soldier appeared in court. He’s accused of committing war crimes in Ukraine. The man’s name is Vadim Shishimarin. He’s 21 years old. He appeared handcuffed before a district court in Kyiv for a preliminary hearing. Host Carol Hills speaks with Sergey Vasiliev, a professor of international criminal law at the University of Amsterdam.
