Tunisia president strengthens grip on power

Tunisia’s president, Kais Saied, says he will rule by presidential decree, ignoring parts of his country’s constitution. The move follows his suspension of parliament and calls into question Tunisia’s decadelong transition to democracy. The World’s Marco Werman spoke with Intissar Fakir, a senior fellow and director of MEI’s North Africa and Sahel program, about the Tunisian president’s latest moves.
