Sand is a key ingredient in the production of concrete. And construction-grade sand is increasingly scarce. Criminal syndicates are ripping up eco-systems and dredging rivers to turn a hefty profit on high-grade sand. Researcher Abdelkader Abderrahmane tells host Carolyn Beeler about his efforts to expose the trade.
