Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) is one of a couple of lithium-battery-making juggernauts in China that supply much of the worlds’ electric vehicle (EV) industry. Officials in the United States are feeling nervous about this and have begun to try and steer car manufacturers away from China’s battery supply. The alternatives are not plentiful.
