The ubiquitous bar code

When you’re buying groceries on the way home, or waiting in the TSA line at the airport, take a moment to remember George Laurer. He was the American engineer who invented a laser scanner that made bar codes a common phenomenon across the globe. Laurer died this month at 94. The World’s host Marco Werman has the story.
