Normally around this time of year, we would’ve heard the name of a recipient of the Nobel Prize in literature. But won’t be happening this year. The Swedish Academy, which awards the prize, is engulfed in a sexual abuse and corruption scandal, and it cancelled this year’s honor. So instead, we’re looking at Caitriona Lally, who has received the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature from Trinity College Dublin.
