Today, US President Donald Trump and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are meeting at the White House. Erdogan is a controversial leader, and Trump’s invitation was a contested move. Turkey is an ally and a NATO member, but Erdogan has threatened those relationships with recent moves. Our BBC colleague Mike Thomson in Istanbul reports on the rift between Turkey and its allies.
