 This year marks an important anniversary for Eastern Europe. In 1989, the Iron Curtain came down, piece by piece. Romanians rose up in December that year, and on Christmas Day, the dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu and his wife were executed. Today, a massive reminder of his legacy still looms over Bucharest. The BBC’s Robert Nicholson reports on the so-called People’s Palace.
