The Supreme Court of the Netherlands on Friday ruled that the Dutch military was partly responsible for the 1995 massacre in Srebrenica, Bosnia. Dutch soldiers had been given the mission of defending a so-called UN safe zone in Srebrenica, but failed to do so. The court said the Dutch state had 10% liability for the deaths of 300 Mulsim men — a fraction of the thousands who were killed during the massacre. The World’s host Marco Werman speaks with Waqar Azmi, chairman of “Remembering Srebrenica,”a nonprofit in Britain dedicated to keeping memories of the Bosnian massacre alive.
