The lives of Tibetan refugees living ‘Far from the Rooftop of the World’

Since China invaded Tibet in 1950, tens of thousands of Tibetans have fled, seeking refuge in countries from neighboring India to others farther afield like Australia and the US. “Far from the Rooftop of the World,” a new book of narrative nonfiction by award-winning journalist Amy Yee, examines the lives of Tibetan refugees, and their efforts to preserve their culture abroad. Yee discusses her book in an interview with The World’s host Marco Werman.
