The Latino vote influence

The World

A few weeks ago, we heard from Brayan Guevara. He’s a 19-year-old Afro Latino college student who will be voting for the first time this year in North Carolina. He is studying to become a teacher and says his greatest life influence is his mother Nodia Mena. Mena is from Honduras and also a teacher. She taught her son to always be informed about politics and to always ask questions. For The World’s “Every 30 Seconds” series about the young, Latino vote in the US, WUNC reporter Naomi Prioleau in Chapel Hill brings us Nodia Mena’s political journey.
