The World

The US election this week saw a continuation of a national trend that began in the 2018 midterms — an unprecedented wave of first- and second-generation Americans running for office. The World’s Rupa Shenoy tells us about some of those who won office, including  Iman Jodeh, the daughter of Palestinian immigrants and refugees, who’s now Colorado’s first Muslim lawmaker, and Chinese American anesthesiologist Michelle Au, who won a seat in the Georgia State Senate.
