The Dominican Republic’s deportation of Haitians

There is concern by human rights groups and the US Embassy in the Dominican Republic that Dominican authorities are unfairly targeting Haitians for deportation. The Dominican Republic says it has deported 43,900 migrants, mostly Haitians, between July and October, in an operation that it says is for national security amid growing unrest, gang crime and a fuel blockade in its island neighbor Haiti.
