Yesterday, history was made by the US Olympic team, as Suni Lee, the first Hmong American gymnast, won the gold medal for all-around women’s gymnastics. At an event center in Oakdale, Minnesota, hundreds of people gathered around Lee’s parents to celebrate her historic win. Among the crowd was Kaohly Vang Her, a state representative from Minnesota and a friend of the Lee family. On The World, Her joins host Marco Werman to discuss what this historic win means for the community.
