In Southeast Asia, the new year begins in April, and people usually celebrate by partying in the streets for a week straight. It is loud, boozy and fun. And very wet. Part of the tradition is to throw buckets of water on strangers. The holiday in Thailand is called Songkran. But this year will be very different. Thai officials say no parties are allowed because of the coronavirus. The World’s Patrick Winn has our story.
