Frustrated by citizens using 9-1-1 to get help with everything from directions when they’re lost to panic that they’re out of cell minutes, the Toronto Police Department has launched a new social media campaign to try and stop it. It was prompted by the legalization of marijuana nationwide. A sample Twitter message from the Toronto police: “Do not call 9-1-1 if you smell weed coming from your neighbor’s apartment.” Host Marco Werman speaks with someone from the Toronto Police Department.
