Staying put on a cruise in crisis

The Diamond Princess cruise ship, docked near Yokohama, Japan, now has the second-largest cluster of individuals infected by the new coronavirus. At least 450 people on the vessel tested positive for COVID19, the disease caused by the virus. The US State Department evacuated more than 300 Americans from the ship over the weekend. But Matthew Smith and his wife Katherine Codekas were not among those airlifted out. Smith tells The World’s Marco Werman why he decided to stay put.
