South Sudan filmmaker turns lens inward

As South Sudanese filmmaker Akuol de Mabior says, it’s impossible to separate the story of her family from the story of South Sudan. Mabior is the daughter of John Garang, who is largely considered one of South Sudan’s founding fathers. In her documentary, “No Simple Way Home,” she turns the lens instead on her mother, Rebecca Nyandeng de Mabior, who is continuing the fight for a better South Sudan. The World’s Halima Gikandi reports.
