Jazz original Abdullah Ibrahim from Cape Town, South Africa, fused many idioms, including Boogie Woogie and Township Jive before Duke Ellington met him in the 1960s and championed his music. At 90, Ibrahim is undertaking a world tour, including two rare US dates, as we hear from The World’s hosts Marco Werman and Carolyn Beeler.
