The Walt Disney Company has faced backlash in recent years for racist imagery in some of its movies. In November 2019, Disney began labeling titles with a disclaimer for “outdated cultural depictions.” Now, the media titan is strengthening that message by placing racism advisory warnings on some movies, including Dumbo, Lady and the Tramp, and Peter Pan. But some say the 12-second warning may not have much impact on viewers. The World’s Bianca Hillier has the details.
