‘Skyscrapers, pools and beaches’: Russian content creators head to Dubai

Since the start of Russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine, Moscow has increasingly restricted access to information about the war. It has banned Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok. These and other restrictions on free speech have pushed some content makers to leave the country. As The World’s Shirin Jaafari reports from Dubai, many have found the United Arab Emirates a welcoming place to land.
